The movement
Rio always
deserved.
Since 2018, MoviRio has been the largest dance festival in Rio de Janeiro. Every August the city's historic centre is transformed — performances in theatres, workshops on Praça Tiradentes, dance taking over every street corner.
In 2026, for the first time, three theatres open at once: three simultaneous stages in the 9th edition. More than twenty dance styles, from classical ballet to urban, from dance schools to professional companies.
More than one hundred thousand people have already been through the festival. And with every edition, more creators find here a place to perform, to compete, to learn — and to be seen.

Blue Session
An experience designed for neurodivergent children and young people. Soft lighting, reduced sound, sensory corners and a decompression space — so that dance reaches everyone, without exception.
Workshops
The biggest names in Brazilian dance in the studio. Three days of technical immersion at Espaço Focus de Criação, Praça Tiradentes. Limited places, registration required.
MoviRio Fair
Independent fashion, artisanal food, crafts and culture at Praça Tiradentes. Three days of festival outside the theatres, opening dance up to the city.
